Different Charities

Charitable organizations are a type of non profit organizations that help raise money to help support certain causes.

Type of Charities:

  • Animals- Animal shelters ad sanctuaries are obvious and popular choices, and many help to find new homes for animals. Charities are available for domestic or wild animals, and you can help them directly or through sponsorship.

  • Arts, Culture- Art, culture charities help the arts culture in general, give money towards the arts, culture, and heritage of a particular place, and help a particular branch of the arts.Different Charities

  • Cancer- Many cancer charities help with prevention of cancer, with cures, and care for every single type of cancer out there.

  • Children- Children charities help with the prevention of cruelty and abuse, disadvantaged and excluded children, supporting families, poverty, refugee children support, disabilities, illnesses, fitness and obesity, and education.

  • Disability- There are plenty of charities that help people with disabilities such as visual impairments, hearing impairments, mobility and independence equipment, mental disabilities, and specific mental disabilities.

  • Education- While people think the government provides free education for everyone, but state school systems are not always perfect and there are cracks that are needed to be filled. Education charities help contribute to the education of children and young people, help children who have problems in school, education of adults, help with the education of people in certain areas and countries, and help with particular educational initiatives.

  • Environment- Environment charities offer support for international aid, Global issues, sustainability, local concerns, single issue such as  (plants, marine life, land, air, water, natural reserves, trees, rain forest, and urban areas).

  • Health- Health charities are broken into 10 basic areas helping in sport and lifestyle, first aid and emergencies, specific diseases and conditions, mental health, HIV/AIDS and sexual health, support and care, hospital charities, hospices, worldwide, and umbrella bodies.

  • Homeless- Homeless charities fall into two camps: small, local ones supplying basic needs, and larger ones with longer term prospectives.Different Charities

  • Hospices- Hospices get very little government support. They come in all shapes and sizes, caring for patients with a range of different conditions. A majority of hospices are small, local concerns, concentrating their fundraising activities in a relatively small area.

  • Human Rights- Help the human rights of people with down syndrome, women and children, refugees, racism and minorities, and peace.

  • International Aid- One of the most popular choices to help other countries from disasters and such with health, HIV/AIDS, Children, Human Rights, Religious, giving money and giving money for specific needs, and short term relief.

  • Older People- Charities for older people help with accommodation and care, reducing isolation, illness, and abuse.

  • Society & Work- These charities often help with the community mostly helping people with problems which aren't life threatening.

  • Sport- Sport charities help improve public access to sports in general, improve access to sport in local areas, help improve saftey and standards, improve people access to playing a certain sport, help a particular group of people to gain access to a sport, and help attach a wider issue within the world of sport.

There are five different types of charity organizations that will qualify as a charitable organization. Section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code allows organizations that are qualified under this section to have earnings free of income tax, and contribution will qualify for tax deductions. The 5 different kinds of charitable organizations under 501 (c) (3) are:Different Charities

  2. The Publicly Supported Entity

  3. The Charity Sponsored by gifts, dues, and fees

  4. The Private Operating Foundation

  5. The Supporting Charitable Organization
